Natural remedy for headache.

Tuesday, August 08th, 2006

The number one suggestion for headache remedy is hydration. Water consumption keeps the body flushed of contaminants. Toxins in the body accumulate in the colon and can cause constipation as well as your headache.

Diet ingredients such as caffeine and alcohol, monosodium glutamate and aspartame can initiate headaches. These unwanted additives should be avoided when using a natural remedy to prevent a headache.

Dr. Judy Griffin, through Baylor University, has outlined how flower essences can reduce pain and restore good health. Lavender oil or peppermint oil applied on the back of your neck, and/or your temples, may reduce tension headaches.

Reflexology applied to the feet and hands can be a great benefit to reducing headaches. Even having someone massage your neck and back will reduce the tension in the muscles and usually he’s a headache.

A visit to the chiropractor may be new to you, but has proven for years to give relief to patients that have been plagued by headaches that reoccur and are problematic to relieve.

Stress may be the culprit, that has caused your headache. Exercise, meditation, relaxation and change of daily routine can help ease stress and reduce the chance of headaches.

Ice packs can be used on the areas of your head or neck that seem to generate the headache. Be sure to wrap the gel pack in a towel. Never applied in the ice pack directly to the skin.

Your environment could very well be the cause of your headache. Air pollution in or outside of your home or office, filtering in to your living space, or cigarette smoke can be the underlying cause of your headache.

The herb, white willow bark, relieves pain in inflammatory conditions such as headaches. Ginkgo biloba gotu kola, Omega-3, flax oil, capsicum and magnesium are supplements that improve circulation and reduce headache symptoms.

Support your immune system with natural antibiotics.

Natural Remedy for Stress

Monday, August 07th, 2006

Stress exercises that prevent being shrunk.

The reversing of “controlling time” instead of “trying to get caught up with a schedule” or “time controlling you”, will prevent stress.

Exercises:

Turn off the TV, all music, find a place by yourself, quiet, relax and ask the question “how do I feel?” If you feel anxious, upset, or nervous, start with these few techniques.

When the phone rings, take a deep breath, look out the window, or at a pleasing photo then exhale before answering.

Try to have an ending and beginning to each task. This definition will program progress. Take a break between each task. At least a minute.

Throughout the day, take several small breaks of just a couple of minutes each (up to 5 min.). Using this time to oxygenate the lungs, fill your lungs to capacity by inhaling slowly, then exhale slowly pursing your lips as if exhaling through a straw.

Occasionally, close your eyes and become conscious of the sounds and smells in your surrounding. While your eyes are closed, relax the muscles of your body, starting with the small muscles around your eyes, your cheeks, your neck, your shoulders and arms, your back, legs and feet.

Take a walk for pleasure. At least one block twice a week. Increase the distance as your body conditions itself to the ease of the distance. Always drink at least 8 oz. of water prior to your walk.

For the next 21 days practice these exercises daily.

Consciously, think of the complementary things of your day that are not the high points. Take a few moments to think about measuring the coffee, the movements of the vacuum cleaner, walking the hall, observe the architecture, and above all notice the natural life that you live in, such as the birds, the trees, the ants, the flowers and the streams.

Take the time to schedule a year in advance, some downtime that includes the natural life in the above paragraph. Although this can be included in your normal vacation, this time should be special and not rushed. Take a lawn chair to the forest or a stream and sit, relax, read or just sleep. Once a month schedule a few hours or a day, especially for you. Write it down like an appointment with your doctor, its that important! During this time take a walk, drive or sleep, meet a new person, read a new book. Your life will be changed, predicated upon what you read and who you meet next month and each moth thereafter.

Remember to care for your body with natural remedies and supplements.

Fighting Blood Pressure and Cholesterol?

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

The two things that say heart disease the loudest are high blood pressure and the wrong levels of cholesterol.

In most cases the response is the same. Get a prescription it is the only cure. Well give the body some credit and a little help. The body has been healing itself for how many years now?

Here are some natural tips for CHANGE in your habits to HELP the body improve your cholesterol and blood pressure:

Blood Pressure

The easiest and most healthful thing that you can do to help your heart is to take a walk. A walk will lower your blood pressure, increase circulation and improve stamina. Try a walk of at least a block 3 times a week. After a couple of weeks try two blocks and increase gradually until you are doing 1-2 miles 3 times a week. A walk around all four sides (375 ft ea.) of a block is about 1/3 of a mile. SO if you started on one corner of a block, walked 3 blocks in any direction, made a right angle turn, walked 3 more blocks and made a right angle turn in the same direction as the first turn (i.e. First turn right, second turn right, third turn right) you would walk in a complete square ending where you started. Three blocks up, three blocks over, three blocks down and three blocks back to starting point equals almost a mile.

Medical research shows the lack of magnesium is implicated in high blood pressure. Whole grains and leafy greens are rich in magnesium and a key role in good heart health.

Cholesterol

Bad health doesn’t come by the tablespoon; it is the result of years of body abuse. In the same vein of light don’t expect to change years of body abuse in 30 days of good attention. Change to natural enhancing food and supplements and you will notice continual BETTER health as the body goes back to natural healing.

Beans of any kind are rich in fiber and pectin both give the body power to battle cholesterol. Don’t forget to season the beans. (Dried beans: bay leaf, celery seed, ONIONS, & GARLIC, pepper and salt.) This the case that you can’t get too many beans in your diet. Beans for good health! (Other foods rich in pectin are apples, carrots and the white rind of citrus fruit.)

There is a good oil that needs to be added to your diet. This oil is found in salmon and trout. Eat this as often as available. Then every day take a fish oil supplement with your meal that is high in omega 3 oil. This one supplement is being heralded as the heart helper for men and women!

Garlic is the super healing herb that supports the immune system and helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Raw garlic and onion every day. Can’t take the fresh garlic, try supplements. DO something different and expect a change!

Red grapes have an ingredient that lowers the bad cholesterol (LDL). Red grapes fresh or red grape juice daily or simple grapes seed extract supplement with each meal can help reduce the risk of heart disease. Remember slowly abused over a long period of time can be corrected but also takes time, don’t be impatient, and be consistent!

Remember to add vitamin rich foods like strawberries, tomatoes and potatoes to your diet when available and supplement the rest of the year with quality Vitamin C tablets.

When looking for a natural anti-aging formula to lower blood pressure by better assimilation try Hgh Plus an all natural herbal pituitary support.

Look for immune system failures such as lingering colds, fungus infections, (skin and toes) allergies, and fight to correct these as you battle cholesterol levels. Check here for a natural immune support.

Remember, Dr Linus Pauling, two times Nobel Laureate, said “one could trace every disease and every ailment to a mineral deficiency.” If your system cannot absorb body healing minerals then you should consider improving colon good health with Intestinal Formula # 1.

“I’m taking my vitamins!” “Yes I’m in the yard!” “I’m taking Vitamin D, of course!”

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

Scientist now say it is not a fad but a proven fact that grows more convincing with time, Vitamin D, dubbed the “sunshine vitamin” because the skin makes vitamin “D” from the ultraviolet rays in sunshine is good for you.

I work on the computer every day in my home. I’m self employed. Arriving at the family reunion last month was hysterical. I wore shorts and the hoots and smart remarks started as soon as I had one leg out of the car. “Where is my sun glasses?” “Blinded by the glare!” “We didn’t know we were kin to Snow White!” Well I have very sensitive skin and freckle instead of tan. But I got the message. I receive 8-10 phone calls a day on a headset. I decided that some of those calls could be taken outside while I admired the flowers, watered the potted plants or just soaked up some rays. Rarely are the calls over 10 minutes so I am increasing my Vitamin D intake and freckling up nice without the burn.

Sunscreen will block the ultraviolet rays. Scientist now are discovering that Vitamin D is important for preventing and treating colon cancer. Some other cancers that have responded to Vitamin D are lung, lymphoma, prostate and even skin cancer. None of these studies represented that the bikini was the apparel and all day in the sun was the recommended dose of rays, rather moderation was in order.

So the tip of the day is answer the phone (outside), catch some rays and take your Vitamin D, all at the same time. I do get some funny questions though, “Are you outside?”, “I hear water running, are you watering something?” “Sounds like the wind is blowing in your office!”, to which I respond “I’m just taking my daily Vitamin D.

Wall Street Journal, Colloidal silver a Natural Antibiotic

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

With the continued bacteria mutating, the prescription antibiotics are not working. The bacteria are building up immunity to the penicillins that are less than 100 years old.

Colloidal silver remains effective in killing over 600 viruses and bacteria and yeast. The Wall Street Journal featured an article June 6 2006, “Fighting Bacteria has a Silver Lining”, on the benifits of silver and the large companies like Adidas, Samsung, Bass Pro, Wall MArt, Ionic Breeze and Lowes that are incorporating nano-silver particles in bandages, refrigerators, washing machines, footwear and underwear.
